In the twenty-fifth edition of the award promoted by the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC), Girls with Opportunities won the trophy and positioned itself as the most innovative project after showing the great impact it causes in the lives of thousands of girls and young students from rural and peri-urban areas in Huancavelica, Amazonas, Lambayeque, Cajamarca, Lima and Callao. The acknowledgment took place on Thursday, November 18 in a hybrid event which we attended.
We were acknowledged together with the Amarakaeri Communal Reserve (ECA Amarakaeri) with the SCALE Green Creative Adaptation Award in the 2021 Creative Green Adaptation Award Winners category for the project “Strengthening Madre de Dios indigenous communities and organizations in managing sustainable processes for local development and effective defense of their rights”, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
