Marilú Martens

CARE Peru’s National Director

She has a Master’s degree and, graduated with CUM LAUDE honors in Psychopedagogy from the Andrés Bello University of Chile and has a degree in Education with a minor in Special Education and a specialty in Communication Disturbances. Since April 2020, she has held the position of national director of CARE Peru. 

She served as an advisor to the Board of Directors of the Pikimachay Board of Trustees, the Lucas-Nülle educational group from Germany and the Silabuz.com Education Group. She is a member of the Educa Investment Board (Toulouse Lautrec Higher Technological Institute, CERTUS Higher Technological Institute and the University of Sciences and Arts of Latin America). She also belongs to the Consultative Council of the Sylabuz Group and is chair of the Board of Trustees of the Place of Memory, Tolerance and Social Inclusion (LUM). 

As for public administration, she held the positions of Educational Technologies adviser, general director and academic director of the Colegio Mayor Presidente del Perú, adviser to the Ministerial Office, national director of Alternative Basic Education, national director of Specialized Educational Services and Minister of Education of Peru. 

She was vice-rector for Innovation and Educational Quality at UCAL University and chair of the Board of Directors at the Advanced Education Alliance Association (ALEA). She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the FUNDADES Group, a member of the Advisory Council at the BCP’S Board of Trustees and a member of IPAE’s National Strategic Education Committee. 

She has been a leader-manager in the creation, implementation and management of the High Performance Schools (COAR) network, which have received awards in three categories of Business Creativity. As a tutor at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education, she has facilitated the professional development of teachers in Latin America.
